Cellphone laws don’t persuade all drivers to put gadgets down

A Virginia driver says California can show us the way to limit cellphone use, but studies suggest not all get the message even when hand-held devices are banned.

NTSB to host forum on distracted driving

The National Transportation Safety Board, an independent group that is the nation’s leading federal safety advocate, is having a forum in Washington Tuesday to discuss distracted driving.

Car shouldn't be your office

Does your boss expect you to be talking on the phone or texting while you are driving? A new survey of Capital Beltway drivers found that half of them say they are at least occasionally using the phone to respond to work issues. Only 18 percent said they never get on the phone for work.

Distracted driving victims spotlighted

Expanding on Transportation Department Secretary Ray LaHood's signature campaign against distracted driving, the department today launched a campaign called "Faces of the Distracted" on distracted.gov, focusing on the serious human toll that can result from a few seconds of texting or other distraction.
