Severe T’storm Watch for D.C. area until 8 p.m.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire metro area until 8 p.m. From the SPC:

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70. MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS

Most likely timing for storms, as we mention in our forecast, is after about 2:30 p.m. into the evening, with the overall chance of storms around 60%. We’ll update as needed.
