Mick Jagger is pulling double duty on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. The Rolling Stones frontman will serve as musical guest for a third time, with an assist from Arcade Fire, the Foo Fighters and Jeff Beck, and will host the show the first time.
The famed rocker seemed very at ease alongside cast member Kristen Wiig in the promos for his episode, released earlier this week.
In the actually funny clip, the 68-year-old musician made a guitar appear out of thin air through the power of television magic for Wiig, who it turns out can’t play. “That’s terrible. What a waste of magic,” Jagger declared.

Nicki Minaj debuts ‘Right By My Side’ video

Nicki Minaj
(Jonathan Short - Associated Press)
In the newly released video for “Right By My Side,” Nicki Minaj plays one half of a lovesick couple that has been separated for an unknown reason.
While Chris Brown sings the male verse on the song, Minaj recruited rapper Nas to play her brooding leading man.
The three seem to be entangled in love triangle of sorts, with Brown vying for Minaj’s heart with a lunchtime shopping trip and Nas with a car delivered to her doorstep. (I’d say the latter is a slightly better gift.)
The video also features shots of a beautiful home, fancy jewelry and a waterfall feature, as well as a very subtle close-up on a Pepsi can. Considering Mianj’s ties to the soda company, I’d say the songstress wasn’t drinking the beverage because the restaurant didn’t serve Coke.

Actor
Nick Stahl
— who starred as John Connor in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and most recently appeared in Showtime’s “House of Lies” — remains missing Thursday. The L.A. Times reports that Los Angeles police have focused their search on the skid row section of the city, an area the actor reportedly frequented. He was reported missing Monday by his wife, Rose Murphy, who reportedly said she has not seen him since May 9. Meanwhile, ABC News wonders if Stahl is evidence of a “Terminator” curse; the

connection makes sense, but really, was Christian Bale “cursed” after starring in “Terminator: Salvation”? (LA Times; ABC News)
Many are mourning the loss of Chuck Brown , the godfather of the D.C. go-go music scene and the man behind the ‘70s hit “Bustin’ Loose.” Brown died Wednesday at the age of 75, of complications from sepsis. Post music critic Chris Richards has written this appreciation of the musician and D.C. institution. Fans all over D.C. also reacted Wednesday night. “D.C. lost its president,” said one fan in this piece by Marc Fisher and J. Freedom du Lac. “If you live in D.C., you love Chuck Brown.”
Venerable British actor Michael Caine was reportedly locked in the attic of a New Orleans theater overnight earlier this week. After filming “Now You See Me,” Caine retired to his dressing room where he took a nap. According to the Mirror tabloid, the doors were locked and the Oscar winner awoke in the dark to find himself trapped. He was discovered the next morning and set free. We cannot — nay, will not — fault the Mirror for its headline, “You should have blown the bloody doors off.” (Mirror)
Very powerful celebrity Jennifer Lopez may not return to “American Idol” next season, according to E! News’s sources. Lopez herself told Ellen DeGeneres that her future as a judge is unclear: “I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they're getting more mobile, they're about to go into school… So I just don't know.” (E!; Billboard)

Mary J. Blige turns ‘Any Way You Want It’ into a strip club tutorial for ‘Rock of Ages’ (Video)

Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta in a scene (at a Tower Records, remember those?) from “Rock of Ages.”
(David James)
As the release date for “Rock of Ages” approaches and we continue to mentally prepare for its high-octane level of ’80s-ness, a new clip has arrived online to assist with the process.
It’s a video for the Mary J. Blige-crooned cover of Journey’s “Any Way You Want It” (found via Movieline) and it has made me see this song in a very different light. (At this point, I should note that I have not seen the play “Rock of Ages,” and I realize that’s a criminal offense given my lifelong allegiance to the MTV decade, but there’s not much I can do about it this second, so just let it go.)
Anyway, the song. As you can see below, what “Rock of Ages” teaches us is that this Journey classic is actually about maintaining customer satisfaction at a strip club. Add this to the list of life lessons “Rock of Ages” will undoubtedly impart.

Here’s a video of former “Office” boss Steve Carell and Mark Twain Prize recipient Ellen DeGeneres playing a very silly game of charades, which, as we’ve seen before, is a great thing to watch famous people do.
