- Arcade Fire has announced their first headlining tour in three years. The moody Canadian band will hit Merriweather Post Pavilion August 6th, three days after their record "The Suburbs" is released in the U.S. Beloved indie rockers Spoon open the gig.
- Live Nation is cutting service fees for the month of June. Jason Garner, CEO of the company's concert division, told Billboard that last year's "No Service Fee Wednesdays" helped jolt ticket sales during a summer slump. According to Live Nation research, 52% of fans who purchased the promotional tickets in 2009 said that they would not have bought tickets without the discount. Garner estimates that slashing ticket fees shaves $12-13 off the average ticket price.
