Future days: Casablancas comes to 9:30, Mos Def does "Austin City Limits"

Tomorrow night, he said, oh baby I'll be in town. (RCA Records)

In concert: A couple months ago Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas released his debut solo album, "Phrazes for the Young." The world mostly shrugged. Then a few weeks ago he appeared on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and played the old "Saturday Night Live" song "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" with Fallon, Horatio Sanz and the Roots. The Internet rejoiced. Will he play it Tuesday at 9:30 club? He's only got eight solo songs to his credit, so maybe. In other frontman-gone-solo show news, Brian Fallon, leader of old-school greasy rock-and-rollers The Gaslight Anthem goes troubadour at the Black Cat on Saturday.

In stores: Somehow Vampire Weekend has become a love 'em or hate 'em band. Seems like their cheery, innocuous tunes would suggest the complete opposite. But they dress preppy so that changes the whole equation, apparently. In any case, "Contra" is available Tuesday; we reviewed it already. Power-pop quartet OK Go returns with "Of the Blue Colour of the Sky." And from the, "Wow, they are still releasing new albums!" file: Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Jersey punks Bouncing Souls have new ones available.

On TV: Saturday's episode of "Austin City Limits" features K'Naan and Mos Def. It's a double-dose of Vampire Weekend, tonight on "Conan" and then Thursday on "Craig Ferguson." And Fallon has Ke$ha on Wednesday. Maybe she'll do "Harnessed in Slums."
