Local news: Little Big Town to visit Library of Congress for CMA Songwriters Series

By Chris Richards

The Library of Congress and the Country Music Association are getting pretty chummy. On Dec. 4, the two organizations will bring the CMA Songwriters Series will to the Library's Coolidge Auditorium for the second time this year.

Back in March, the partners offered a rollicking gig at the Coolidge, featuring Kix Brooks, John Rich, Lorrie Morgan, Victoria Shaw and Randy Scruggs. December's concert hopes to eclipse it with performances from Little Big Town, and songwriters Brett James (Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel," Kenny Chesney's "When the Sun Goes Down") and Lori McKenna (Faith Hill's "Stealing Kisses," Tim McGraw's "I'm Workin'"). Wisecracking songwriter Bob DiPiero will host, too.

Fans can snag free tickets at www.ticketmaster.com or wait for standby tickets on the evening of the concert, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Update: Free tickets were offered via Ticketmaster, but have since sold out. Fans can wait for standby seats on the evening of the concert, starting at 6:30 p.m.
