Singles file: Anna Calvi, Show TuFli, Shabazz Palaces

Watch out for Anna Calvi in 2011.

Special edition: Five to watch in 2011

Anna Calvi: "Jezebel"

The British singer-songwriter, set to release her first disc in March, debuted with this song made famous by Edith Piaf, but she more resembles the demon love child of Nick Cave and Maria Callas.

Show TuFli: "Unbelievable"

This N.Y.C.-based compatriot of Charles Hamilton hasn't done much besides make underrated mixtapes "inspired by" Sade, Erykah Badu and now R. Kelly (on the upcoming "S"), but we have high hopes for TuFli's official debut, which may finally drop this year.

Shabazz Palaces: "32 leaves dipped in blackness making clouds forming altered carbon"

The upcoming Sub Pop debut from the uber-mysterious new project of Digable Planets' Ishmael Butler promises equal amounts of hip-hop, world music and free-floating electro weirdness.

The Vaccines: "Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)"

If the Jesus and Mary Chain had been a garage band, they'd sound something like these British newcomers, set to release their already-hyped debut early this year.

Charles Bradley: "The World (Is Going Up in Flames)"

A 60-something former handyman, Bradley will release his debut on Daptone Records this month. Expect lots of grizzled, old-school soul rave-ups like this one.
