A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind...
Arcade Fire: "City With No Children" (live)
Spoiler Alert: On this low-quality, high-octane bootleg, recorded at a Quebec show this month, AF road-tests some new songs from its August disc, "The Suburbs." This track is the best (and certainly the Springsteen-est) of a great group, but all can be found at the link.
CyHi Da Prynce: "Never Again"
The Kanye-endorsed Stone Mountain rapper drops a track from his upcoming mixtape, "The Royal Flush."
Tired Pony featuring Zooey Deschanel: "Point Me at Lost Islands"
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, REM's Peter Buck and Belle & Sebastian's Richard Colburn have united to form history's least offensive supergroup. On their maiden track, a guesting Deschanel does her wistful country-folk thing.
Intalek and Ritchcraft: "Everyday Money"
The Virginia-based MC teams with the Canadian beatmaker for this earworm-y exercise in '90s nostalgia, from their upcoming debut EP, "Lives and Vibes.""
Katy Perry: "California Gurls" (Passion Pit remix)
So weird, right? The suddenly-everywhere Passion Pit throws dignity to the wind with this throbbing, low-sugar rescaling of Perry's hit.
