Singles file: E-40 f. Bjork, Band of Horses, Bon Iver

By Allison Stewart

A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind...

E-40 featuring Björk: "Spend the Night"

We're not sure why Björk songs don't get sampled more often (maybe nobody asks her?), but this track from E-40's new "Revenue Retrievin': Night Shift" features the most creative - if not the only - use of a "Medulla" sample ever.

Band of Horses: "Factory"

So maybe you were underwhelmed by "Compliments," the new leak from BoH's probably-still-amazing upcoming disc, "Infinite Arms," but you didn't want to admit it? This even newer leak, a minor miracle of lush country-folk, will make you feel better.

(Bon Iver covers Peter Gabriel, after the jump.)

Future Islands featuring Katrina Ford: "In the Fall"

If the Jesus and Mary Chain had listened to a lot more new wave - and used even more synths - they'd sound like this Baltimore-based outfit, which teams here with frequent TV on the Radio collaborator Ford.

Bon Iver: "Come Talk to Me" (Peter Gabriel cover)

Gabriel recorded a lovely version of "Flume" for his otherwise doleful experiment in song trading, "Scratch My Back." Justin Vernon returns the favor with this Record Store Day special release.

Miguel featuring J. Cole: "All I Want Is You"

The underrated R&B singer pairs with Cole for this monumentally addictive sleeper of a track.
