Singles file: Nas and Damian Marley, Madonna and Justin Timberlake

By Allison Stewart

A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.

Nas and Damian Marley: "As We Enter"

Another bang-up leak from their long-awaited, Africa-themed "Distant Relatives," which is finally set to drop in April.

The Delta Mirror: "He Was Worse Than the Needle He Gave You"

The latest offering from the L.A.-based electro/folk trio is death-obsessed and shoegazey, like the Arcade Fire if that band had listened to Slowdive more than Springsteen.

(Madonna teams with Timberlake, after the jump.)

Justin Townes Earle and Dawn Landes: "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind"

Earle and tourmate Landes unite for this jaunty, recorded-on-the-fly duet. Like most of the best country duets, it sounds like it could have been recorded by George and Tammy in 1975.

Purple Monkey Sircus: "Blue Moo Cookie Dough"

Their name is wince-inducing (PMS! Get it?), but this Ohio-based hip-hop outfit, who previously won our hearts by sampling Passion Pit, endear themselves even further with this early-OutKast-recollecting, slo-mo romp.

Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake: "Across the Sky" (Produced by Timbaland. Probably.)

This alleged "Hard Candy" demo/outtake is one of Madonna's faux-confessional songs, the kind where she pretends to bare her soul while saying things everyone pretty much knew already. Still, this track's exclusion from "Candy" is a mystery: It's better than "4 Minutes," though that's a pretty low bar, when you think about it.
