Singles file: Raheem DeVaughn, jj, Major Lazer

By Allison Stewart

A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.

Raheem DeVaughn featuring TCB: "Bulletproof" (go-go remix)
DeVaughn's Curtis Mayfield-sampling soul single gets a radical, go-go-happy overhaul.

jj: "My Life"
The depressive Swedes continue their quest to turn every Lil Wayne song into a strange and beautiful dirge with this partial appropriation of the Weezy/Game '08 hit.

(Bun B's pants on the ground, after the jump.)

Bun B.: "Pants on the Ground"
Bun B. reworks "American Idol" contestant General Larry Platt's anti-saggy-jeans broadside on this bonus track from his latest mix tape, "No Mixtape" - although, isn't every track on a mix tape technically a bonus track? Because it's kind of unexpected, and free?

Major Lazer featuring Elephant Man: "Halo" (Beyoncé cover)
Halfway through the Grammy ceremony, Diplo dropped this dancehall cover of the female-pop-vocal-winning track, along with some brave/foolhardy comparisons ("My version is . . . sooo much better!") to the original.

Pilotpriest: "Body Double"
Canadian electro whiz Pilotpriest sounds so much like Daft Punk that when his latest track leaked, everyone assumed it actually was Daft Punk, in disguise, for some reason. Even Kanye West posted the track to his blog billed as a Daft Punk track called "The Crash." And Kanye usually doesn't let himself get played like that.
