Singles file: The Black Keys, Kingpen Slim, Mary J. Blige covers Led Zeppelin

By Allison Stewart

A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.

The Black Keys: "Tighten Up"

The Keys re-team with Danger Mouse for this atypically muted, un-swamplike new track.

Kingpen Slim featuring Jim Jones: "My Life Is a Movie"

The DMV star pairs with Jones for this old-school-soul-reminiscent track, which will reportedly make an appearance on Slim's upcoming "The Beam Up 2."

(Mary J. does Zeppelin, after the jump.)

Mary J. Blige: "Stairway to Heaven" (Led Zeppelin cover)

Blige recorded this less-weird-than-you'd-think-it-would-be cover of the stoner classic for release as an international bonus track. Also at the link: her R&B-meets-hair-metal cover of "Whole Lotta Love." And yes: Both of these things really exist.

Ski Beatz featuring Jean Grae, Jay Electronica, Joell Ortiz and Mos Def:
"Prowler 2"

Producer Ski oversees a jaw-dropping array of talent, including elusive MC Grae, on this killer track from his upcoming, already fabled "24 Hour Karate School."

Big Star: "Thirteen" (Alternate Mix)

The Alex Chilton/Chris Bell masterwork gets the slightest of tweakings on this alternate version from last year's comprehensive Big Star box set, "Keep an Eye on the Sky."
