On Wednesday morning, promoters added three more acts to the already sprawling line-up at this year's Virgin Mobile FreeFest .
Could this thing possibly get any bigger? Oh, definitely.

Chris Richards: With M.I.A., T.I. and LCD at the top of the FreeFest bill, I find myself hankering for a bowl of Alpha-Bits. (R.I.P. MJ!) So gimme hardcore veterans D.R.I. and Bad Brains frontman H.R. Gimme highly unlikely rap reunions from D4L, EPMD and N.W.A. Flash me back into a mind-bending 1978 soundclash between DNA and ELO. Gimme the KLF at 3 a.m. But since none if this is very likely, just gimme Janelle Monae, the one rising star of 2010 with enough charisma to steal the show from the combined forces of AC/DC, R.E.M., EMF, ABBA, N.E.R.D., OMD, BTO, NOFX, B.O.B., NRBQ, TLC and MGMT.
Allison Stewart: Where's Cee-Lo Green? He's been having a moment. I'm not just talking about The Viral Hit Which Cannot Be Named But The Title Only Has Two Words And One Of Them Is "You." He's been putting out solid song after solid song, and he'd be a great bridge between hip-hop acts like T.I. and Urban Outfitters hipster acts like... well, everyone else.
Aaron Leitko: What this bill really needs is somebody, anybody, with a double-necked guitar. No offense to Joan Jett, but there's nothing heavy on the FreeFest lineup -- no metal, stoner-rock, or even a lukewarm Zeppelin knock-off. The tastes of the beards-and-tattoos crowd are largely being ignored here. It would have been nice to see Boris or Neurosis get a slot on the bill. And if they wanted a local connection (a la Thievery Corporation), why not bring on Darkest Hour?
David Malitz: What's weirdly missing from this year's lineup is the '90s alt-rock radio staple that has been all over festivals past. Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers have all headlined previous years but maybe they left that type of band off the lineup in attempt to get hipper and also not distract their clientele from HFStival the weekend before. Anyway, Beck would be a good intersection of getting hipper and nodding to the '90s. They should get him away from covering Yanni albums and up on the Merriweather stage.
