Letting audiences know how long they have until the band takes the stage is a really great idea.

Week ahead: Raincoats return to D.C.; Wild Flag’s dynamite debut; Lady Antebellum on “Leno”

Wild Flag’s thrilling debut album is officially release on Tuesday. ( Kyle Gustafson/For The Washington Post)
If you listen to one new album this week, make it: The crackling self-titled debut by indie-rock supergroup Wild Flag. We love that album so much we reviewed it a week early.

If you go to once show this week, make it: The D.C. return of post-punk icons the Raincoats. The band plays at Comet Ping Pong on Saturday, their first appearance in the District since (we think) 1996. We’ll have an interview with founding member Gina Birch on Click Track later this week.

And if you stay up late to watch one act on television this week, make it: Country-pop superstars Lady Antebellum on “Leno” on Friday. The chart-topping, Grammy-winning group also marks the release of new album “Own the Night” tomorrow. Chris Richards will have a review right here.
