Week ahead: Two chances to see Big K.R.I.T. and Freddie Gibbs, find those Record Store Day leftovers

Freddie Gibbs teams with Big K.R.I.T. for two local shows this weekend. (Courtesy of the artist)- If you go to one concert this week, make it: The stellar combo of up-and-coming rappers Big K.R.I.T. and Freddie Gibbs . We love K.R.I.T.’s new mixtape and are pretty sure we’ll love Gibbs’s upcoming album on Young Jeezy’s label. You can catch the show at U Street Music Hall on Sunday, or for the more adventurous, at Jaxx on Saturday.

- If you listen to one new album this week, make it: Something you bought at Record Store Day this weekend. Maybe “Live at the Old Waldorf,” that double-live Television album from the 1978 heyday?

- And if you stay up late to watch one act on television, make it: The Strokes on “Conan” Wednesday night. Because most everything else is reruns this week.
