A Persian lamb jacket used as evidence against ousted Baltimore mayor Sheila Dixon will be used to teach ethics to university employees.
Susan Gillette, senior university counsel at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, tells The Baltimore Sun that she bought the coat with her own money at an eBay auction this week. Her winning bid was $1,700.
The sand-colored jacket sports an evidence tag, ideal, Gillette says, to use as a prop during ethics training. It can makes ethics rules such as don't accept gifts from vendors come alive.
Gillette says after the ethics training, she might donate the jacket to a museum — perhaps for an exhibit on women in politics.
