Prosecutors in Baltimore say a man has pleaded guilty a scheme to create, possess or pass counterfeit currency.
Twenty-nine-year-old Antwine Finch, of no fixed address, entered the plea on Monday. He will be sentenced on Jan. 24.
According to his plea agreement, Finch and conspirators bought merchandise with fake currency, then either kept the goods or returned them for cash refunds. They did this in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, Delaware and New Jersey.
Prosecutors say the Secret Service collected from financial institutions and stores nearly $24,000 in counterfeit currency.
