A German diplomat's son who is serving two life sentences for murder has once again been denied parole.
Jens Soering was denied parole for the sixth time last week.
Last month, the United States government refused to transfer Soering to Germany as outgoing Gov. Tim Kaine requested last year. Gov. Bob McDonnell revoked Kaine's request for the transfer soon after taking office in January.
Soering would have been eligible for release after two years if he had been transferred.
Soering told The Roanoke Times in an interview that he pinned his hopes of getting out of prison on parole.
The 44-year-old Soering was convicted for the 1985 stabbing deaths of his then-girlfriend's parents, Derek and Nancy Haysom, in Bedford County.
