Md. rapist pleads guilty in 2008 death of woman found in Frederick

A convicted rapist has pleaded guilty in Frederick to murdering a Baltimore woman and leaving her body in a parked vehicle in 2008.

Thirty-five-year-old Ronnie Winkler of Baltimore pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Thursday. He faces up to 30 years in prison at his sentencing July 13.

The partially clothed body of 19-year-old Shneara Boone was found asphyxiated in her sport-utility vehicle in Frederick in September 2008. Prosecutors say she was the girlfriend of Winkler's nephew.

Winkler still faces trial in Baltimore on charges he murdered another woman and raped a woman and a 16-year-old girl in separate attacks in August 2008.

He served a prison term for the 1994 rape of a 13-year-old girl.
