Md. suspect shot dead identified

Anne Arundel police on Thursday identified an alleged robber who was fatally shot Tuesday by the owner of a Dunkin' Donuts and gas station during a reported holdup attempt.

The man shot was Josue Alberto Angel, 29, of the 12000 block of Carland Place in Laurel, police said in a statement.

No further new information about the incident, such as the identity of the store owner or any decision on possible charges in the shooting, was available.

Police had said that the robber entered the store at about 3:30 a.m., implied he had a gun and announced a robbery. During a struggle, the 48-year-old business owner shot the alleged robber, police said.

Angel died later at a hospital.
