D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting in Northeast Washington Monday night that killed a 19-year-old man.
Police said that Derrick Ragland, 19, of Northwest Washington, was killed in the shooting. Officers found Ragland just before 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of Taylor St NE after responding to a call for a shooting.
Ragland was taken by ambulance to a hospital and died, police said.
The shooting took place in a residential neighborhood a few blocks north of Turkey Thicket recreation center, and several blocks south of Providence Hospital.
