Northwest D.C. van raid nets marijuana, cash

Federal agents seized more than 50 pounds of marijuana Tuesday in a van parked in a Northwest Washington garage, authorities said.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms raided two vans in a garage in the 6100 block of 16th Street NW, court papers show.

They seized the marijuana in one and more than $5,000 in cash in the other, authorities said.

One of the vans was parked in a spot assigned to Courtney Prince, 45, who lives in an apartment building at the same address as the garage, agents wrote in court papers.

Documents in both vans also indicated that Prince had driven them, authorities said.

Prince was charged with illegal possession of marijuana. He was released on personal recognizance after a court appearance Wednesday.
