Police have identified the man shot and killed as he sat in a car in the parking lot of Prince George's County's Penn Station shopping center Monday night as 34-year-old McKinney Antonio White Jr., of District Heights.
White was sitting in his car in the 5700 block of Silver Hill Road in the Suitland area about 5 p.m. Monday when a lone gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire, police have said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to determine who shot White and why. Witnesses are asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
White's homicide was Prince George's County's 15th this year.
