Red Line service between the Takoma and Rhode Island Avenue stations has been restored, authorities said.
It had been suspected as police investigated a suspicious package in Northeast D.C., officials said Friday afternoon.
According to D.C. police, a suspicious package was reported at the 4500 block of Fort Totten Drive NE. Explosive ordinance division units were dispatched, police said.
A statement on WMATA’s website said bus service had also been set up connecting the Rhode Island Avenue, Brookland, Fort Totten and Takoma stations.
