Woman set on fire in Md. dies

A Laurel woman who was found in the woods with severe burns in late October died from her injuries, Howard County police said Friday.

Pamela Myers, 37, of no fixed address, had been in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center since an Oct. 23 incident when, a witness told police, Richard Rodola, 48, set her on fire.

Rodola was arrested later that same day and charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and arson. Police now expect to file murder charges against him.

Police believe Myers and Rodola were in a relationship and living together in a wooded area.

Rodola is being held without bond in the Howard County Detention Center.
