A little more than half of the buses in the Prince George's public bus system had some service on Wednesday, the third day of a bus drivers' strike.
Ruth Otte, a spokeswoman for Veolia Transportation, the company that contracts to operate the service, said 31 of 60 buses were operating. The county's website shows a list of the routes on TheBus that are affected. The service normally transports about 14,000 passengers each day.
Negotiations between Veolia and Local 639, the union that represents the drivers, broke down on Tuesday afternoon.
"We're essentially in the same situation as we were the other day," Otte said. "They did not resolve all the issues."
The union's grievances include health insurance coverage and the company's disciplinary policy.
Otte said no date has been scheduled to resume talks.
