Additionally, the Post's Chris Hopkins reports that the conductor of his Metro train said there was a leak in the roof at the Foggy Bottom Metro station. 6:25 A.M. UPDATE:
There's already congestion on I-66 East heading to the Beltway.
Good morning, commuters! It's going to be a chilly Election Day, with temperatures topping out in the low-to-mid 50s. There's also a freeze warning for the northwest DC suburbs and a frost advisory for the District to points south and east this morning, per the Capital Weather Gang. Here are some headaches to be aware of as your day gets underway. Let us know any other things you see or hear about in the comments below, via e-mail or via Twitter (@drgidlock).
-- In Maryland and the District, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. In Virginia, the hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The sun will rise at 7:36 a.m. and set at 6:07 p.m. Plenty of people will be making their way to and from the voting places in the dark. In addition, plenty of workers will vote early or late, so you expect that you might run into congestion near the polling places.
Be on the lookout for traffic and voters walking to the polling places. If you'll be walking to your polling place, try to wear some light-colored clothing so you can get home safely to see your votes counted.
-- Beach Drive is scheduled to be closed today and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. so that crews can do emergency work on manholes. It will be closed from Rock Creek Parkway to Klingle Road NW, according to the National Park Service.
