Serious crash on I-495 S.

Good morning all,

Let us hope the morning commute is smoother than Wednesday's, when an over night thunderstorm caused slick roads and power outages through out the region. Here's what's going on so far:

8:30 AM

--A serious accident is being reported on I-495 South near Route 123 in the Tysons Corner area. Only the left lane gets by. Fire and rescue crews are on the scene now.

8:15 AM UPDATE

--The I-495 North accident near Gallows Road earlier is now being reported as a disabled tractor trailer on the right, transition lane.

8 AM

--A tractor trailer accident is being reported near the Gallows Road exit on I-495 North toward Tysons Corner. Expect delays.

7:45 AM UPDATE

--The accident on I-95 South before Route 5 moved to the right shoulder. All lanes are clear but traffic is still slow.

7:30 AM

--In Maryland, the right lane is blocked on I-95 South after Route 5 because of an accident.

7:30 AM UPDATE

--The accident on Old Keene Mill Road moved to the shoulder.

7 AM

--In Springfield, Old Keene Mill Road eastbound at Huntsman Boulevard is blocked because of an accident. Traffic gets by in the left turn lane.

7 AM UPDATE

--The disabled vehicle has been cleared from I-495 near New Hampshire Avenue.

6:50 AM

--A disabled vehicle is blocking the second lane from the right on I-495 South before New Hampshire Avenue.

6:35 AM

--Northbound 13th Street is closed from U Street to Good Hope Road and Good Hope is blocked from 13th to 14th Street SE because of police activity.

6:25 AM UPDATE

--The left lane is open southbound on the George Washington Parkway. The motorcycle accident has been moved to the left shoulder.

6:15 AM

--The left lane is blocked southbound on the George Washington Parkway after the Arlington Memorial Bridge because of a crash involving a motorcycle. Traffic is backed up.

5:45 AM

--The right shoulder is closed southbound on I-95 at Saint Barnabas Road because of an accident involving a motorcycle.

--The left speed pass lane is closed at the main toll plaza eastbound on the Dulles Toll Road because of road construction. Stay right.
