Vince Young told his version of the very public display of the issues between him and Tennessee Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, admitting his frustration but saying he did not throw "half his uniform" into the stands.

Young was demoted from the starting quarterback job by Coach Jeff Fisher, who also said he threw "half his uniform into the stands" after the Titans' 19-16 overtime loss Sunday to the Washington Redskins.

Young, in a Sunday night conversation with Adam Schefter of ESPN, said he was just giving his jersey to the daughter Don MacLachlan, the Titans' executive vice president. "She's been very supportive of me and I wanted to give it to her as a sign of thanks because she knows what I'm going through," Young said.

Young added: "I throw my shoes into the stands after every game, my hat into the stands after every game, my wristbands into the stands after every game. If it's a problem, I'll pay for my jersey."

Young reportedly muttered comments as Fisher addressed the team, according to the Tennessean. As Young prepared to leave, Fisher told him to stop and not "run out on your teammates." Young replied, "I'm not running out on my teammates, I'm running out on you."

Fisher admitted he and Young spoke in the locker room, but wouldn't discuss what was said.

"That is between me and him and the team," Fisher said.

Young left, not speaking to the media, as Michael Griffin, a teammate of Young's at the University of Texas, chased him. According to the Tennessean, Griffin confronted Young in the players' parking lot, saying, "You can't leave, you can't do this."

Young reportedly shrugged and left.

Although Griffin denied chasing Young, but several media outlets witnessed it. Young also denied that Griffin chased him, "but I was upset with the way I was being treated and I just needed to get out of there," he said.

Young said he is frustrated. "It is not just me," he told Schefter. "It falls back on me, but I don't know how to respond to it when it's not just me. I'm outnumbered right now."

Young's biggest issue with Fisher, he said, is not being put back into the game after he hurt his thumb. Fisher deemed Young's throws off-target when he returned to the field. However, the uncertainty of Young's immediate future may be a moot point. He tore the flexor tendon in his thumb and will have an MRI today to determine whether he needs season-ending surgery.

"It was just an awkward situation," Young said. "I just want to play football. I want to win games. I want to go to the Super Bowl. That's it."
