DeMorning Links: Frank Kameny’s heir

The Washington Blade’s Lou Chibbaro Jr. has the fascinating story of Timothy Clark, 35, the sole heir of gay rights pioneer Frank Kameny, who died in October. Clark was a 15-year-old growing up in Southeast when he first encountered Kameny in 1991, calling a gay support hotline he ran. Over the next two decades, the two developed a deep friendship that was “[v]irtually unknown to Kameny’s circle of friends and political associates in the LGBT rights movement,” and where the relationship was known, it was little understood. “Frank was like a grandfather to me,” Clark tells Chibbaro. “We had our ups and downs, but that’s what families do.”
