And now, a glimpse of red carpet fashion on the guests arriving at the White House state dinner. In contrast to the blue hues worn by Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron, there seems to be a lot of black-and-white going on among the guests, as you see here on Helen McCrory, the actress wife of Damian Lewis. (Cute Betty Page bangs, too!). Though Georgina Chapman, of the fashion house Marchesa, turned out in a sparkling dove gray. (See state dinner fashion photo gallery, at the bottom of the post.)
Also noteworthy: Anna Wintour (see image below) opted for a more formal look than she did in her last state dinner appearance last year.
