Royal Wedding hunger striker rewarded with ticket to London

Estibalis Chavez paints a portrait of Britain's Prince William and his fiancée Kate Middleton outside the British Embassy in Mexico City. (By Alexandre Meneghini/Associated Press)

And the prize for the most fanatical Royal Wedding watcher goes to ... Estibalis Chavez. The19-year-old Mexican citizen staged a two-week hunger strike outside the British Embassy in Mexico City in an attempt to solicit an offical wedding invitation, according to a story by the Associated Press. Chavez’s hopes were shattered after she received a rejection letter from Prince William’s secretary. But as luck would have it, a man — touched by her plea — donated the money for her to fly to London. Chavez will try to watch the wedding from outside Westminster Abbey. We’re guessing she should fare pretty well, given her proven tenacity and ability to go for long periods of time without food.
