For anyone who relies on Google’s Gmail to conduct their work correspondence, it may be a good time to take a lunch break. Some users are experiencing problems accessing their e-mail on the popular service.
Via its Twitter feed, Gmail said, “Thanks everyone for the reports of 500 errors, we’re working on it.”
Later, at 1:31 p.m., the Gmail team followed the acknowledgment of the outage by telling users, “#Gmail should be back for some of you already, and will be back for everyone soon. Thanks for your patience.”
A visit to Google’s Apps Status Dashboard also shows a service disruption is in effect for the e-mail service. According to Google, the problem is affecting less than 2 percent of its users.
