A rescued baby pangolin is released into the forest by a government wildlife and conservation officer in the Karo district of the North Sumatra province in Indonesia. Police found 85 endangered pangolins, most of them still alive, in the sacks of suspected smugglers on Saturday, said Yoris Marzuki, chief detective of the local police. The 14 sacks were seized at a bus station in the North Sumatran city of Medan. The animals, also known as scaly anteaters, are prized mostly in China and Vietnam as food and medicine.
