National Minority Health Month: Health Equity Day of Action
The Office of Minority Health hosted a daylong event to raise health awareness on April 21. Local chefs including Warren Brown of CakeLove bakery and Cathal Armstrong of Restaurant Eve demonstrated how to make healthier dishes. 93.9 WKYS radio personality Angie Ange moderated the discussion on health equity that featured panelists including Tonya Lewis Lee, author, spokesperson for ‘A Healthy Baby Begins With You’ campaign and wife of Spike Lee and Nia Barge, cofounder of Dreams Work Inc., an organization helping area youths through the arts.
