Indian activist ends another hunger strike

Anna Hazare called off a three-day hunger strike, part of his push for tougher corruption laws, on Wednesday because of health concerns. Hazare has been embarking on hunger strikes this year to push India’s Parliament to pass tougher anti-corruption legislation.

Indian anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare acknowledges supporters during the second day of his hunger strike in Mumbai. The powerful lower house of India's Parliament passed a contentious anti-corruption bill Tuesday after hours of fierce debate, even as Hazare began a three-day hunger strike demanding that Parliament adopt his tougher proposals.
